Play Focus Learning
Creative Art
It is our namesake that we have creative art in all of our programs.

Allowing children to create their own art and express through sensory play is a very important part of self.

We do not use pre-packaged, nor art modeling in our programs.

Infant/ Toddler Creative Arts
In our Infant/Toddler rooms,
creative art is about expression. Through sensory play, children do not produce art to bring home, but rather experience art through their senses.

We start our sensory work as young as six weeks.

Preschool/Pre-K
In both our Preschool and Pre-K classrooms we provide a variety of materials for children to create their own art pieces.

Graduating from sensory play, our preschool/pre-k art centers have a variety of recyclable materials, project centered materials and some staples each and every day.

When appropriate our preschool/pre-k class will produce take home projects to display proudly in their home.

Music
Music plays a large role in brain development. It is also exposes children to many different cultures and story telling.

Music and songs get passed down by generations in cultures throughout the world.

Honing on natural curiosity of children, we provide a wide variety of materials for children to manipulate and play with in every classroom.
We provide musical instruments found all over the world and in our older classrooms we create our own instruments with a variety of recyclable material.

Music is a huge part of transition throughout the day.

Music is also used for our celebrations.

Songs from a wide variety of artists that emphasize social emotional skills, problem solving skills, and overall creative expression. We also encourage our families to also bring in music that is both age appropriate and all inclusive.

Artists that we adore:
World's Playground collections
Bev Boss, Tom Hunter, Michael Leeman
Raffi

Just to name a few.

Movement
Aligned with our Music programming, movement is a large part of brain development.

Movement helps make a connection between what we hear and how we process learning.
We welcome movement at all times when appropriate. We strongly believe that some children need constant stimulus in order to learn and grow.
We also incorporate movement through our transition from each activity.
We also use movement to quiet our bodies during rest time.
Yoga is offered in the afternoons for those children that would like to participate.
Language
Our language program starts in our infant classroom.

We teach and talk through a combination of sign language and language modeling.

In our Toddler classrooms we continue to teach through language modeling and begin to use picture and letters to help with sight and sensory language learning.

In our Preschool/Pre-K programs we use the Writing Without Tears curriculum. We also use pictures, Spanish and English labels in all parts of our classrooms.
Outdoor Classroom
We go outside everyday. Regardless of the weather all classrooms spend some time outdoors. We do adhere to the school district recommendations for outdoor limitations depending on weather advisories.

Our outdoor classroom is an extension of our indoor environment.

For our Infant/Toddler classrooms we bring out soft climbing structures, sensory tables, water play and a variety of natural toys.

For our Preschool/Pre-K classrooms we bring in a variety of manipulative structures to problem solve and experiment space and structure.

Teachers use observation and project approach curricula to adjust the outdoor classroom that is age appropriate and challenges children to explore and learn.
Annual Creative Arts Auction
At the culmination of the school year, our teachers put together art work for our Annual auction that the children have created.

From sensory captures in our infant and toddler programs, to sculpture, drawings and 3D art projects, each child will have a piece of art displayed at the Annual Creative Arts Auction.

Our Creative Arts Auction benefits our school for a variety of projects to enhance our environments.

Community
In the mornings, around rest time and in the close of our day, we meet up as a community.

We believe in creating a family between ourselves and the children we serve. Therefore, we have a welcoming circle as a school, a quiet transition from our programs in the afternoon and a closing circle as a school.

Meeting as a whole helps our school create a community in a peaceful, safe and fun atmosphere throughout all our classrooms.
